What: Gavilan College's annual health & resource fair is free, open to the public, and is offering services to anyone in the community. This event, which regularly draws over 1,500 visitors, is open to people of all ages (any of the free tests can be performed on children, as long as a parent or guardian is present).
Visitors will have an opportunity to speak with dozens of representatives from local organizations including the Hazel Hawkins Hospital, Hollister Pregnancy Center / STD Clinic, The LGBTQ Youth Space, Covered CA, St. Louis Hospital, San Andreas Regional Center, San Benito County HHHSA, San Benito County Public Health - Tobacco Program, Santa Clara County Valley Health Hospital, Santa Clara County WIC Program Sourcewise, South County Self Help Center, Tobacco Prevention & Education Program, and the Gavilan College Allied Health Department, to name a few.
Visitors can also get referrals for counseling, and be tested for blood pressure, blood glucose, HIV / AIDS (which is confidential and involves no needles). The Gilroy Lions Club will also be offering free vision screenings by a licensed optometrist, and free pregnancy testing will be available for women 18 and up.
