Yu-Ai Kai Senior Center is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year culminating with a gala event to be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Dolce Hayes Mansion in San Jose. Join us for a gala evening of Celebration & Community highlighted by guest speaker, the Honorable Norman Y. Mineta, and a koto performance by June Kuramoto and Kimo Cornwell of Hiroshima and a special performance by San Jose Taiko.
Emceed by Robert Handa, KNTV NBC Bay Area Reporter and former KTVU San Jose Bureau Reporter and Mike Inouye, KNTV NBC Bay Area Traffic Anchor, the event program includes a celebration of Yu-Ai Kai memories, special recognition of significant supporters and volunteers, Live and Silent Auctions and more!
Honorees include Midori Kai and YJA (Young Japanese Americans) as recipients of the Akira Kamiya Spirit of Yu-Ai Award; Dale Sasaki as recipient of the Kay Shimizu Memorial Award, and JAMsj (Japanese American Museum San Jose) as recipient of the Yu-Ai Kai Cultural Award.
