About 100 PG&E customers remain without power this evening after an equipment failure knocked out electricity to about 1,400 PG&E customers in San Carlos this afternoon, a utility spokesman said.
Shortly before 4 p.m. today, just under 1,400 PG&E customers lost power due to an equipment failure in an aboveground vault, PG&E spokesman Jason King said.
As of about 5 p.m., power had been restored to all but 118 PG&E customers in San Carlos, according to King.
The outage impacted PG&E customers in the area between Howard Avenue and San Carlos Avenue and between Cedar Street and El Camino Real, King said.
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said traffic signals at various intersections in the area were not working and that drivers should treat such intersections as four-way stops until service is restored.
The remaining PG&E customers are expected to have service fully restored around 6:30 p.m. tonight, King said. |
