Public Transportation
The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is the major mode of transportation for those commuting between Santa Clara and San Jose. VTA Buses make several stops in local neighborhoods en route. Commuter buses also run between San Francisco and Santa Clara. Service is available Monday through Friday and on weekends.
There are three additional public transportation options for travel between Santa Clara and San Jose and Santa Clara and San Francisco.
Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) runs Monday through Friday.
Amtrak trains services Santa Clara and the commuter corridor between San Jose and San Francisco on weekdays and weekends.
Caltrain makes several local and express stops between San Francisco to San Jose, including Santa Clara.
Directions
Santa Clara to San Jose
Start out going northeast on Reeve Street toward Monroe Street. Take the first right onto Monroe Street. Don't go all the way to Jackson Street though. Take the second left heading onto El Camino Real (CA-82 S). Continue toward CA-82 S. Turn left onto West Hedding Street. West Hedding Street is located just past McKendrie Street. Turn right onto Coleman Avenue. Coleman Avenue is just past Chestnut Street. Coleman Avenue becomes North Market Street. Turn left onto Devine Street. You are now in San Jose.
Santa Clara to San Francisco
Start going northwest on Reeve Street toward Monroe Street. Take the fist left onto Monroe Street. Make a slight right onto San Tomas Expressway (CR-G4 N). The San Tomas Expressway is located just past Los Padres Blvd. Merge onto US-101 N. Take the US-101 North Mission Street (Exit 434 A) towards DuBoce Avenue (G G BR). Follow the US-101 N ramp toward Van Ness Avenue (G G Bridge). Turn slight right onto Mission Street (US-101 N). Continue on US-101 N. Turn right onto Market Street. Take the first right onto 11th Street. You are now in San Francisco.
